The Knoxville Police Department is investigating a fatal pedestrian-involved crash that happened last night on Chapman Highway.

At around 10:40 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025, KPD officers were dispatched to a crash on Chapman Highway at Moody Avenue, where a Nissan Titan truck had struck a pedestrian.

The investigation revealed that the Nissan was traveling south on Chapman when the pedestrian walked in front of the truck. The pedestrian was pronounced dead on scene. The involved truck and driver remained on scene.

The crash remains under investigation by KPD crash reconstruction personnel. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending next of kin notifications.
